The YouTube debate took place last night. I missed it, but am looking over the questions and answers this morning. One questions was basically, "do you believe the Bible literally". Guiliani gave a good answer, not one that I agree with, but it was a good answer. Romney stumbled. Huckabee, as I am getting accustomed to expecting, gave a thoughtful, irenic response. He's definitely not a "scarey evangelical". See below.

I got nervous when Guiliani said parts were meant to be "interpreted in a modern context." That opens up a whole can of worms.
Guiliani's answer was a good political answer. He could not really say anything more conservative without looking like a liar or panderer, at the same time he didn't mock people who do believe it.
I think Huckabee meant "hyperbolic" not alegorical on the 'plucking out the eye' reference.
but still good, especially at the end. A conservative or a liberal christian could be satistisfied with his answer.
I think its funny that Guiliani used the Jonah and the whale example as something he didn't truly believe. Instead of some theological question that has been debated. Like Huckabee did. We can only hope that they hold it as true to their hearts as they say they do.
